Sound of Music tour!!!

I took the tour of the Sound of Music sites in October 2009 in Salzburg, Austria. It was one of the most beautiful cities I have been to.
This was at the starting point for the tour.

Maria splashes water at the horse in this fountain.
The children stopped on this bridge during Do-Re-Mi.
The Do-Re-Mi steps with the Pegasus fountain in the background.
Another scene from Do-Re-Mi.
The Pegasus fountain from Do-Re-Mi.
The children dance around this fountain while singing Do-Re-Mi.
This is the lake where the canoe capsized and all the kids and Maria fell into the water.
These trees are the ones that the kids were hanging out of when the Capt. brought the Baroness home from Vienna.
The gazebo from "I am Sixteen Going on Seventeen" song.
The church where Maria and the Capt get married.
The German officers drive by this, on the outside of the festival hall.

Here I am on the inside of the festival hall.  I had to wait until our 2nd trip to Salzburg to see this.

Only thing missing is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!!

Does this view look familiar? How about the castle in Disneyland? This was the inspiration.

The Psyco Trip Continues...

Well, we did it again. We went to Europe on one of our psycopathic trips!! This time it was Germany, Austria and Italy, with an overnight layover in Copenhagen!!

Bavaria... and OKTOBERFEST!!!

This year, Oktoberfest started on September 19th. My husband wanted to see the parade and be there when the first keg was tapped (O'Zapft!!) but there was a scheduling misunderstanding. So we arrived in Munich at the beginning of the 2nd week, on Sept 27th.

Anyone want a pretzel? This is actually the pretzel that I bought!!

Do you know what drinking beer does to you?? It leads to flirting!!! At Oktoberfest, flirting is actually encouraged! So here we go...

This is Gregor and he is from Poland.

This is Ashley and she is from Austrailia.

This is Teddy and he had a couple too many...

What a trip

We arrived the morning of September 26th. Since Bruce had to go to religious services, I was on my own the whole 2nd day we were in Munich. So I took one of the walking tours offered. It's free and takes you around the city in about 3-4 hours.
One of the sites was this synagoge. The outside was designed to resemble the Western Wall in Jeruselem.

This a group shot of our tour group.

After the tour, I went on a walk of my own.
